This Easter a selection of elderly residents were treated to a visit by members of Islamic Help and Riverside Church bearinggifts. Following on from the successes of the Christmas and Eid Hamper projects, organisers decided to extend the project in thehope of making it a regular feature.

With over 100 hampers being created for elderly members of the community the money for the project came from Islamic Help,Sultan Bahu Mosque and the Riverside Church.

Abdullah Rehman, Capacity Builder at the Balsall Heath Forum said, “ The young muslims involved in Islamic Help are an inspiration to work with. The enthusiasm they show proves that the future is bright and my hope is that they are seen as role models by youngsters within the community”.

As well as identifying residents through the help of the Balsall Heath Forum and their links with residents groups a selection of the hampers were donated to the Balsall Heath Church Centre.
